Flat Stanley's Last Adventures in St. Louis...

This has been our last week with Flat Stanley as he's been adventuring in St. Louis with our family. We've had a great time visiting different places with him. Luke has especially grown attached to his "big brother." Along with his Hot Wheel cars from McDonald's Happy Meal or his Legos, he makes it a point to bring Flat Stanley wherever he goes!

One of the places Luke took Flat Stanley this week was Brunswick Bowling for his friend's birthday party. And yes...that is him right next to a 16 pound bowling bowl!!! I guess he no longer feels intimidated by heavy objects that may flatten him...

Flat Stanley made a 2nd appearance this week at Vetta Sports in Manchester, MO. This time, however, he met "Louie" the Saint Bernard mascot from Maryville University. Who would have
ever thought that "Louie" and Flat Stanley's path would have crossed? : )

Another place Flat Stanley visited was Lafayette Christian Preschool where he had the opportunity to meet Luke's assistant director and past director on the day of their fall party. He was really excited to see all of the kids and faculty dressed up in costume and parade for some candy. What amazed me was how many people from his preschool recognized Flat Stanley! I guess his celebrity status should not be a surprise as much as he gets around.

And boy...what a way to end the week by trick-or-treating with the kids! He was rolling around and "swimming" in the candy all night! I really underestimated how much of a "sweet tooth" he had. Just didn't think it was possible that anyone could LOVE candy as much as my kids do! : )

Well, the adventures could go on and on, but we realize that Flat Stanley can't stay with us forever. It wouldn't be fair to keep him here when he has the privilege (as flat as he is) to travel in an envelope via mail and visit anywhere he wants. Besides, I think he was getting the "itch" to move on as I witnessed his attempt to jump into a mailbox...

Thank you cousin Caleb for entrusting Flat Stanley to us and allowing him to visit our family in St. Louis! We had a total BLAST with him!!! The kids have really grown attach to him and will surely miss the guy...
Is it possible that we can just look into adopting him as a part of the Burkey family? I've always wanted a family of 4 kids : )
