"Amazing Race" Saturday!

This past Saturday, we had a "whirlwind" of a day with friends as we ventured off to many destinations.

At 9:00am, we headed out to Ho^me*Depot to build trinket boxes...

At 10:30am, we had brunch at Chick*Fil%A...

At 11:15am, we raced off to The Great Train Expo. And in the spirit of the race, the kids were thinking they were being escorted to our next destination. We drove alongside a motorcade of police cars and firetrucks on the highway which they thought was pretty cool...

At around 11:30am, we finally reached our destination after a minor impediment of trying to find parking. I guess the car pictured below didn't have the patience to wait for a parking space....so he created his own :)

The kids didn't know what to make of it...thought we might have ventured to the wrong place. "Mom...is this the 'Big Wheel' Expo?"

Finally, we made it inside the convention center and this is what we saw...

The exhibitors were amazing with their exhibits but also very serious about their work. Here is a sign we witnessed for those "hands that strayed"...
And we couldn't end this "amazing race" without chocolate-dipped ice cream cones at Li^on's Choi*ce. I didn't have any pictures to capture this last destination. Only a couple of ice cream markings on Luke's shirt to testify of our visit : )

"Wheww...I'm tired!"

Burkeys are so fun! Wish we lived closer so we could just tag along on your adventures! You must've gone to a remote place in Missouri to have that sign up.
