There is a Korean tradition every New Year's Day, where the children bow to the elders in the family and wish them good health and blessings. The "perk" for the children is that money is passed out to each of them after the blessing is received from the parents and/or grandparents. I know, as a kid, I always enjoyed New Year's Day as much as Christmas :)
