Hiking at Castlewood Park

Noelle and I decided to hike one Saturday afternoon at Castle#wood Park. We decided to take a combination of trails that allowed us to hike up to the bluffs and alongside the Mera*mec River. You can imagine that the beginning of the trail was pretty much an upward climb. It was nice to have a beautiful, wooded environment to help motivate us onward...
Here are some of the animals we spotted along the way.
Noelle loved this part of the hike :)

But those tree roots that stuck out in the middle of the trail made our hike a bit "bumpy"...
Here are some breathtaking views of the top...

There were several hundred steps we took to get down alongside the river. But beforehand, we went through a tunnel that went underneath the railroad tracks...
Here's Noelle standing next to the riverside...
Beyond the tree branches, you can get a small glimpse of the heights of the bluff...
And even an upward view of the train that passed us while we hiked...
Here was our final destination--the river access point of the park.
Nice to know there is a beach to visit on our next trip back...
