On Wednesday, we decided to head out to Hubb(ard's Mar#ina to take the dophin tour. It was nice they had a guarantee on dolphin sighting. It made us feel a little more comfortable about taking the cruise.
After an hour into the tour, there was no dolphin to be seen. Desperate to keep the boat's moral alive, Captain Jack offered a free drink or candy treat for the 1st person to sight a dolphin. For Luke, this was an opportunity to "score" big with a lollipop. He immediately went to the edge of the boat and kept his eyes alert...
Somehow, he managed to find time to "carve" his pretzels into the number "3"...
But, after much time elapsed, he got weary and just gave up...
Needless to say, we did not see any dolphins on our tour. However, we were offered a free sunset cruise (with free beer and wine) later that week. I guess with enough alcohol consumption for the adults, the guarantee to "see" dolphins in the bay was highly more probable : )
And this is exactly what we viewed...
And believe it or not, we saw dolphins galore.
Here is an amazing videoclip of some of the dolphin action we witnessed in the bay...
Our kids loved staying up in the late evenings to stroll along the boardwalk, swim until they started to prune, or just watch TV until their eyelids got heavy. I have to say, however, that it came with a price. Here are some examples of their "eyes telling all" from good--> to bad --> to worse
