This was the original stairs to our basement (minus the dark wood paneling that encased the side walls as you entered the "dungeon")...

Over in the bar area of the basement, here's the sink that stopped up regularly and overflowed on occasions. Water damage within the surrounding areas was one of the reasons we decided to remodel sooner than later...

Sure beats the 70's frig that leaked "rust juice" inside and outside the frig...
*note to grandma Cho: no more stinky kimchee in the frig please...thanks!!! :P
And we can't forget about the kid's play area (which was originally the whole entire basement- except the guest bedroom).
They are thrilled that they still have a place to "displace" their toys : )

WOW WOW!!! Love the bar area!! Did you paint the ghetto yellow fridge to black? hahaha...nice! i like the lighting in the bar area too. and the entertainment area looks great! did you guys have the flat screen already? don't remember. can't wait to see it!
